Menticide - the latest signing to SubSpace Communications - made their first public appearance in 2006 at the Pre-Party for Tinitus electronic music festival in Stockholm, where they presented an intense live set of brutal yet melodic industrial body music.

During the spring of 2007, the duo of Christiaan Riemslag (noise) and Johan van Damm (voice) further exposed their material in various live environments - from the confines of the hard edged club scene in Stockholm and the concrete slab heartland of industrial Dessau in Eastern Germany to the prestigious SAMA event in Gothenburg.

The recording of the debut album "N.M.E." (read: Enemy) has been a year long process, starting from scratch after abandoned pursuits with their previous moniker, Volt. The pent up frustration of unfinished projects has been put to effective use to grind shape to the traditional body music form and refine it to a new harsher theme.

"N.M.E." offers a dozen tracks, including "Wrong", "Painkiller",

"Rise", and "Komm zu mir" - all of which have been received especially well at shows in Sweden and Germany. The unrefined energy and direct vocal approach of the short aggressive tracks are guaranteed to get attention both on and off the live stage. But there is also a darker side to the music; songs like the title track, "Enemy", "Interim" and "Getting away" bringing to mind an internal destructive force at the threshold of release.

For mixing duties, Stefan Thor aka Folie (of Morticians fame) came on board. And for the mastering session, the band hired engineer-in-demand, Andreas Tilliander (Spetsnaz, Strip Music, Tough Alliance) to beat out the final impurities and lend a certain rough sophistication to the harsh electronics.

The result is a mould-breaking industrial body album which will redefine the live circuit of current sound-alikes and wreck havoc on dancefloors across Europe. Don’t be afraid - step up, bring the noise!
