During the past year, while proceeding with the work on the debut album, The Kick opened live for bands like Client, Timo Räisänen and Alice In Videoland, presenting the songs to an enthralled audience. Now, twelve of these very personal treasures are bonding on Metal Heart. Twelve tracks of which almost each and every track could be a single! The darkness of Swedish winters has definitely affected David Sundqvist, the man behind Gothenburg-based artist The Kick. Lyrically Metal Heart revolves around how David relates to and perceives the world. "I started to ask myself why I didn’t connect and why a lot of times I felt like a total alien. First on a personal level, how I was relating to myself but also to the people around me and finally with society and the world as a whole." Metal Heart is without doubt one of the strongest and most exciting debut albums this year! We’ve heard words like "a mixture of Nine Inch Nails and IAMX", as well as "blending My Bloody Valentine and Skinny Puppy" – we just call it THE KICK.

Following the singles Dancer, My Darkest Hour and Freak it is now time to unveil Metal Heart, the highly anticipated debut album by The Kick. With influences ranging from shoegaze to goth and a fascination for mixing organic elements with machines The Kick presents a collection of songs in the borderland between alternative and industrial pop.
